Every time I mention buying a new party book, my family members roll their eyes because they can’t believe that I don’t have every one that has ever been published. Now of course, that is far from true, but I do have a large collection. One of my very favorites has always been Perfect Parties: Creative Entertaining Made Easy by the editors of Leisure Art.
This 128-page book includes plans for 11 theme parties with lots of color photographs, patterns, recipes, and kitchen tips. I love looking at the party photos and have used many of the ideas in the book. Many of these photos stick in my mind because they are so attractive and appealing—I can’t forget the photos of the red, white and navy nautical decorations for the pool party!
Perfect Parties details party plans for the following themes: Anchors Aweigh Pool party; Summertime Supper; Football Fever; Golfers Par Tee; Great Egg-Spectation baby shower; Dress Up Birthday Tea; Zoo- Pendous birthday party; Bridesmaids’ Lovely Luncheon; Tool Time Shower; Quilters’ Block party; and Midnight Prom Buffet.
I love the sweet baby pastels used for the baby shower and the beautiful floral and garden decorations for the summertime supper. I was inspired by the plaid, grass and golf ball decorations for the golf par-tee, and the teapot cake for the birthday tea party. Children would love the paw-print cookies and the safari lunch bags for the Zoo-Pendous birthday party and the quilt block foods would be wonderful for a lovely ladies’ brunch.
Some of the recipes included that I really like are Golf Ball Truffles, Stuffed Baby Beets, Mexican Macaroni & Cheese, Mocha Nut Balls, Salsa Supreme, Paw Print Cookies, Tea Party Snacks, Minted Marshmallows, and many others.
Every time I pick up this book, I find some new idea that I want to use. I highly recommend this book. It is available online. Enjoy!
