Are you looking for new ways to set your Christmas dinner table? Sometimes you want the traditional red and green look; sometimes you want plaid. Other times you want a white cloth with lots of holiday greenery. But when you decide you want something different, you might want to look at silver or gold for a sophisticated tablesetting. Here is a golden Christmas sleigh tablesetting that might inspire you. Take the ideas you like from this tablescape and make them your own. Go for a golden glow this season!Last summer I found the white and gold-trimmed metal sleigh seen above at my local thrift store and thought it would make a terrific centerpiece. I think it probably originally contained specialty gift foods or flowers. The white with gold trim color gave the sleigh an elegant look and a bit different than you might expect without using a Santa figure with it.
I began my tablescape with a pale gold damask tablecloth which gave the table an elegant base. Then I used gold chargers under my white dinner plates. On top of the white plates, I added my dessert plates that are white with a gold border and a gold star in the center. To complete the individual tablesettings, I added gold damask cloth napkins tied with strands of gold beaded garland.
I filled my white sleigh with gold Christmas tree balls–some shiny, some matte finish, some glittery. I always put a few balls at the base of a centerpiece to flesh out the look. Lastly I draped gold beaded garland across the sleigh and at its base for a more natural look. The beaded garland also picks up on the beaded garland tying the napkins. Around the sleigh I placed four gold votive candles in glass holders to enhance the glow.
