With New Year’s Eve coming soon, you may be thinking about how to impress a special someone with an inspiring dinner. You can begin to build the impression with a beautiful table–and one that is easy to set. Check out these New Years silver star tables for two.
The two table-settings I am showing both have the same simple centerpiece. I took three low square clear glass vases I use frequently and filled them with clear glass and white beads–you can find these items at a craft or dollar store. Then I bought two packages of the silver wooden star sticks from the dollar store and stuck them into the three vases. The beads hold up the sticks.
Then I planned three star-shaped candles in silver star-shaped flat holders in front of the vases to complete the centerpiece. Now you can change out the look at your own discretion. You can use different colors for the sticks and glass beads. You can also change the shape, color and number of the votive candles.
Here I used two white woven placemats with my white Strawberry Street 10 white dinnerware. My great-aunt wove these placemats on her loom for me, so I only use them for the most special occasions. New Year’s seemed like a perfect time to bring them out.To have a different look with the same basic elements, I changed the white placemats for silver grey ones. Then I changed the white dinnerware for my Fitz & Floyd gray Rondolet dishes. These plates have a light gray border around the edge of white centers. I also added a cup and saucer to each placesetting. Then on top of the dinner plate, I layered a matching bread and butter plate.
Instead of using the white star napkin, I used a metallic silver fabric napkin in a silverplate napkin ring and laid it on the plate. And there you have two sophisticated tablescapes for New Year’s for just the two of you! Enjoy!
