If you were thinking that you would like to celebrate Valentine’s in a traditionally romantic way this year, then here is a tablesetting that will give ideas for that. This red rose Valentines table could be for a special someone or for a group of dear friends. The table is laid with a crisp white tablecloth to serve as a canvas for all the china and crystal. Silver chargers are the underpinnings for the white china dinner plates. Then I added silverware, and crystal water goblets and champagne flutes. To add color and romance to the table, I added Valentine’s gift bags to each place-setting. These sheer organza bags decorated with silver hearts or similar ones can be found in most craft stores. Mine were filled with holiday candies–chocolate hearts and kisses–as treats for my guests.
Next I placed my white linen napkins on the dinner plates, secured in rolls with pieces of wired garland with silver and red Mylar hearts. The centerpiece is a burst of holiday color in the center of the table. Vivid red roses evoke the sense of romance of Valentine’s Day. The roses, surrounded by pieces of baker’s fern, are in a short crystal vase so my guests can see over them to talk at dinner. At the base of the vase, I sprinkled loose rose petals and a beaded heart garland. On each side of the vase, I placed a white votive candle in a clear glass candleholder. The ambiance of candlelight give that extra touch of romance.
Have a wonderful Valentine’s Day with your loved ones, reveling in the romance of red hearts and roses! Enjoy!
