Tablescape: Fall Dinner Party Table

Having friends over for dinner is a marvelous way to celebrate the warm of the holidays. Here is a fall dinner party table that may give you some ideas you can use in your own home.

It is a bit difficult to tell in these pictures, but the table is covered with a light gold damask polyester fabric cloth. The gold cloth gives a warm fall feel to the tablesetting. Then I used four alligator texture olive green acrylic chargers under my plain off-white Mikasa Italian Countryside dinner plates. The deep green of the chargers gives a strong base for each placesetting.  Between the dinner plate and the salad plate, I used folded olive green linen napkins embroidered with seasonal colors.  On top of the salad plates, I placed bowls with gold, green and orange designs. I found these bowls at the Dollar Tree so they were an inexpensive addition to my decor. In each bowl I placed a small ceramic orange pumpkin I bought years ago at CVS. These pumpkins will make nice favors for my guests to take home after our dinner. They will be perfect for the autumn squash soup I will be serving. To pick up on the orange color of the pumpkins, the bowl border and the napkins’ embroidery, I used four orange votive candles at the base of my flower centerpiece for light and warmth. The lovely fall flowers were given to me by my sons for my birthday, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to use them in a tablescape. The colors are so bright and pick up on the other colors used in the tablesetting. They are tall enough not to obscure the view of my guests across the table, because you certainly don’t want that. So I loved how this fall dinner party table turned out. The flowers were so beautiful, and the warmth of the gold tablecloth, dark green chargers, the olive linen napkins, the fall bordered bowls, the ceramic pumpkins and the orange votives are so appealing.
