Tablescape: Cream-Colored Fall Tablesetting

With our fall season being influenced by the pandemic, we are spending more time at home with our families. Since we are probably not celebrating or giving dinner parties for friends, we may want to jazz up our family meals to keep the season more festive. Check out this cream colored fall tablesetting for some ideas that you can use at home.

I used my cream-colored dinnerware, Italian Countryside by Mikasa, with these linens. I placed the cloth napkins on top of the dinner plates so that the fall design would show in their bright colors.

To fill the center of the table, I used several small ceramic pumpkins and pinecones for fall color. These little ceramic pumpkins came from the drugstore CVS and I have used them for years in different ways. I have seen similar pumpkins in the dollar store. Real small pumpkins would work as well. I tucked some fall leaves under the cones and pumpkins. You can use real leaves or silk ones. I also tucked in some fall berries. The silk leaves and berry stems are available in most craft stores. I also placed a cream-colored votive candle in a plain candleholder in the four corners of the table’s center to add ambience and warmth.

You could leave the table’s center with just the pumpkins and pinecones, but I chose to add a tall element to pick up on the cream color of the tablesettings. In a tall bottle, I placed several stems of lunaria, known by many as the “money plant.” The cream-colored thin coin-shaped pods are interesting and add height to the centerpiece. You do want to be certain your lunaria will not impede your family’s view of each other across the table. You can buy dried lunaria or faux lunaria at more craft stores.Check out your own dishes and table linens and think about how you could make them work in a fall tablescape. You might want to purchase some new placemats or tablecloth that go well with your dishes. From there you can enhance your table with fall items for a fun seasonal look.
